Brian Beauchamp of Mississauga, Ontario, met his greatest challenge so far in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu when he fought and defeated a seasoned Angelo Popofski a BJJ Black belt from Detroit Michigan in his Black belt Super fight today at the 2008 Canadian Submission Expo in Brampton, Ontario. The Canada vs. USA dual meet was won by USA and pitted five fighters from each country.

Brian gives all the credit to his home club and training partners from Team Kombat Arts of Mississauga, Ontario. Beauchamp, a Toronto Firefighter, is a 3rd degree Black Belt in Judo, a BJJ Purple Belt and a former member of the Canadian National Judo Team.  Brian states that “Angelo is a very talented and experienced BJJ fighter, I had to use all my experience and still won only by a slim margin but beating my first BJJ Black belt leaves me feeling good today.  I would like to give special thanks to my family and friends who came to support me and Team Canada. My training partners at Kombat Arts Training Academy of Mississauga, my sponsors Pound for Pound, Dave Camarillo and Jimmy Pedro of Zebra Mats and finally my coaches, Hector Perez, Dave Camarillo, Fabricio Martins Costa, and Sean Wilson and Scott Lewis-Jd
