I am proud to congratulate the athletes that recently competed in Akron, Ohio on March 15 2008 on the televised MMA competition, Blood, Sweat & Rock n Roll, Combat Challenge #4. Frank Marques’ opponent mysteriously dropped out after the weigh ins and Fadi Nader lost a 3 round decision to a very good opponent after taking this fight on a weeks notice.  Mark Strickland won his match with a 2nd round TKO by mounting his opponent and administrating a good beating.  Kearn Nedd finished his opponent in the 2nd round via TKO by pummelling his opponent with boxing and knees.  Finally Max Grech finished his opponent in the 2nd round via TKO in typical “Max” fashion by chopping his opponent’s leg with Thai kicks like a tree until his opponent collapsed under a useless leg.  GREAT WORK GUYS.  We are all very happy for your accomplishments and thanks to all of the coaches and training partners that helped make this happen.  Piks will uploaded later this week, Jd

Hey guys,

sorry haven’t posted for awhile, just got back from vacation.  Check out this article in the Globe and Mail regarding the rise of MMA.  I’m happy that Patrick wrote a good article on the merits of training in MMA and I hope you enjoy it!  I am also proud to say I have the best bunch of students in the world! You guys really showed the reporter how hard you guys can train, but more importantly to me, a lot of you guys showed how you can take the lessons learned from martial arts and apply it to your “outside” life, making yourselves true matial artists, Jd

sinister.jpg    We got some really cool stuff from Sinister Brand at the Kombat Arts ProShop.  The shorts, long sleeve tees, t-shirts and hoodies are sweet!  Sinister Brand has got some great stuff and it also helps that the name is synonymous with one of my favourite MMA fighters from the UFC, Anderson Silva; what a great match against Dan Henderson (who is also one of my faves)!  In any case drop by, Sinister items are already quickly leaving the store…Jd
